Psychosexual Dysfunction Support

At Wolds Holistic Health, we understand that difficulties with intimacy, sexual function, and relationships can have a profound impact on wellbeing. Psychosexual dysfunction is more common than many people realise, and it can affect individuals at any stage of life. These difficulties are never “just in your head”—they often have complex emotional, physical, and relational roots.

Helena Wilson is specially trained in Psychosexual Medicine with the Institute of Psychosexual Medicine (IPSM). She combines her expertise in physiotherapy, women’s and men’s pelvic health, and psychology to provide sensitive, holistic support for those experiencing sexual difficulties

What is Psychosexual Dysfunction?

Psychosexual dysfunction refers to problems that interfere with a person’s sexual response, intimacy, or sexual satisfaction. These issues can be distressing for both individuals and couples. Common concerns include:

• Pain during sex (dyspareunia, vaginismus, vulvodynia)

• Loss of desire or difficulty with arousal

• Erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation

• Difficulties following childbirth, menopause, surgery, or illness

• Fear or anxiety around sexual activity

• Relationship strain linked to intimacy issues
